Explore What Makes Midtown Thrive

Culture, Innovation, Wellness, and Everyday Living

Midtown Phoenix isn’t just a place—it’s a destination shaped by its people, spaces, and the rhythm of everyday life. It’s where historic neighborhoods meet forward-thinking development, where you can grab a coffee, catch a concert, see a doctor, and still make your next meeting—all within a few blocks. With nationally recognized museums, public art, boutique shopping, and beloved local restaurants, Midtown offers something authentic on every corner.

This district is where you live with access to walkable parks and vibrant apartment communities, work near hospitals, schools, and business centers, play at festivals, concerts, and nightlife venues, and learn at some of the state’s top universities and cultural institutions. Whether you’re commuting on the light rail or enjoying the lock-and-leave lifestyle, Midtown connects the best parts of Phoenix into one dynamic urban experience. Here’s a closer look at the six attraction categories that define why more people and businesses are calling Midtown home.

Parks & Amenities

Midtown’s green spaces—like Hance Park, the canal pathways, and Steele Indian School Park—are at the heart of its appeal. These parks and trails offer walkable connections, outdoor recreation, and gathering spaces that draw both locals and visitors, directly supporting the businesses that surround them.

Shopping & Retail

Whether it’s boutiques on Melrose or a storefront near Camelback, Midtown’s retail scene offers one-of-a-kind finds and everyday essentials. We drive shoppers to local businesses through featured promotions, seasonal campaigns, and directory integration that keeps Midtown top of mind.

Festivals

Midtown’s festival calendar brings the district to life with music, food, and community. Events like Noche en Blanco at Hance Park offer an elegant, all-white evening under the stars, while the Sunday Off Central street fair draws neighbors together with vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment. At Steele Indian School Park, concerts and festivals like M3F keep Midtown pulsing with cultural energy and crowds from across the Valley.

Hospitality & Apartments

Whether you manage a boutique hotel or a multi-unit rental property, your visibility to locals and travelers is critical. We provide featured listings, visual content, and collaborative event opportunities that make your property stand out.

Arts & Culture

Midtown is home to Phoenix’s most vibrant mix of museums, galleries, performance spaces, and public art. We spotlight the creative energy that makes this district unique, driving foot traffic and audience engagement to the institutions and independent artists that define our cultural identity.

Higher Education

With campuses from institutions like ASU and Creighton anchoring the area, Midtown thrives as a hub of innovation, workforce development, and youthful energy. We connect students, faculty, and business leaders through real-world collaborations, internships, and career-building initiatives that benefit all parties.

Hospitals & Institutions

From world-class hospitals to civic organizations and legacy nonprofits, Midtown is a center for care, service, and impact. We elevate their stories and services through digital campaigns, community events, and strategic partnerships with local businesses.
Our Leadership Team

Experience & Expertise

Margaret Dietrich

Margaret Dietrich is a Co-Founder of the Midtown Neighborhood Association (MNA) and a dedicated community builder whose roots in Phoenix go back to 1974. Originally from Chicago, she moved to Phoenix nearly five decades ago and, in 1991, helped form the Loma Linda Neighborhood Association. The joy of finally knowing her neighbors after 15 years was so profound, she vowed never again to live in a neighborhood without that kind of connection.

In 2008, Margaret co-founded the Midtown Neighborhood Association with Julia Tourville, and Midtown has been home to her and her husband Regis ever since. As a long-time accountant and current resident of Tapestry on Central, she values both the proximity to the light rail and the urban, walkable lifestyle of Central Phoenix. Margaret has long envisioned an organization focused specifically on business support, one that matches the needs of local companies with the local providers who meet those needs. That dream is now becoming reality through the upcoming Midtown Business Alliance business directory—a tool designed to do exactly that.

Jason Patrick Kelly

Jason Kelly is a lifelong Phoenician, the owner of Phoenix AZ Ad Agency, and Executive Director of the Greater Phoenix Scooter Club, Inc., a recognized 501(c)(3) organization. Under his leadership, Phoenix AZ Ad Agency has become the highest-rated web design company in Arizona, maintaining a 7+ year A+ BBB rating and earning recognition as a BBB4Good certified business. Jason was nominated for the Torch Award for Ethics in both 2024 and 2025, further solidifying his reputation for excellence and integrity in marketing.

A former Desert Vista High School state champion football player, Jason has built a career and community presence on grit, creativity, and follow-through. With a deep understanding of local business needs—especially in trades, hospitality, healthcare, and neighborhood services—Jason brings sharp vision and operational muscle to the Midtown Business Alliance, working to connect local companies through AI-powered tools, immersive video content, and grassroots events.
